New Life Views

Here is the view from the back of our cottage - the river can just barely be seen (in the picture) through the tree trunks. Try to imagine the sounds of the birds, the gurgle of the creek and the smell; oh, the smell of the forest.

Here is the view of the new sliding door in the back of the 75 year old cottage.

We keep the glass door open at night so all that is between us and nature is the screen. It is wonderful to fall asleep to the sounds of water babbling along; and wake up to the birds chirping gently. This morning the temperature was 45F so it was just like camping!

Here is my favorite view - this is what you will see when you sit on the back deck of the house drinking iced tea with us. Could it be any more inviting?

Here is a view of the cottage, yard and shed from the house deck. So charming.
And here is a view of us cooling off in the creek today. It was 100F (that is 34C for our Canadian friends). We each wanted to have the 'last splash' so when we finished cooling off we were completely soaked! I haven't laughed so hard in a long time.

I see I haven't included any picture of the front of the house or cottage - let me see what I can find.....hmmmm, I guess it will have to be a separate post - they don't seem to be loading to this one. You will just have to wait until tomorrow to see them!
