What a Fabulous Day!

We went on a great adventure with our two new lawyers today. After meeting in S.F's Union Square this morning, we took a bus to Pier 39 where we had lunch, took pictures and rented some bicycles. We strapped on white helmets, wiggled a rubber band over our shoes and onto our pant legs and hopped enthusiastically onto our skinny metal steeds. Away we went, up hills and down and up and down and along the shore and up some more toward the Golden Gate Bridge. The Bridge is wonderfully long and high; pedestrians walk, cyclists pedal, spectators gaze over the rail at sea lions swiming liazily, cars whizz continually and noisily past... The sun was shining, it was warm and windy -it was wonderful. We ended up in Sausalito where we had an iced tea and a cookie and decided that the 8 miles we had ridden was far enough, thank you.

We took the Ferry back to the pier, tiredly hopped the 'Muni' train back to 'our neighborhood', stomped 4 blocks up hill to find the Thai restaurant we were looking for, and plopped gratefully down to a meal of cold beer and spicy Thai food.

We loved every minute we got to spend with Thommy and Rebecca, nice kids and lovely people. At 9:30 when the meal was ended they wondered what activity was next, but Dave and I are ready for bed...and my legs, oh my legs...they may never recover. But my heart is full - What a great day!
