A New Moo

Did you know I have been 'lactose intolerant' for over 25 years? I had never even hear of it all those years ago, and neither had my very un-sympathetic doctor. All I knew was that milk made me desperately ill. It took me several years to discover, all by myself, that milk products are hiding in many, many foods. I have had to quiz waitresses and dinner hosts for years; I found it embarrassing and knew that I was being an inconvenience, but the alternative was SO unpleasant.

Last January I discovered a product on line which has changed my life! It is called Lactagen and is well worth the price. It is a three week program which took me nearly 6 to complete because my tummy was so rebellious; but I did it and am pleased I did.

I can now eat almost everything I want; one caveat is that I need to keep up a steady intake of live yogurt to keep the little intestinal inhabitants happy. (I half suspect other lactose intolerant persons could gradually increase their tolerance by simply eating live yogurt each day.)

My VERY favorite yogurt is Nancy's Whole Milk Yogurt. It is rich and creamy and boasts 'billions of live bacteria'. Whole Milk yogurt seems to work much better than the reduced fat variety, maybe little bugs like extra fat.... My husband has been making me delicious latte's each day using whole milk - is that ever a treat - I have been missing out all these years!

As a result (you may have guessed) my figure is not quite as svelte as it once was, sigh, though I only care a little bit, because I am enjoying cheese, ice cream, pizza, pot lucks, desserts and eating out with out giving people the third degree. You people don't know how good you have it, eating anything you want! :)

At this point you may be wondering if 'the' pants fit me now. (See: Dam Busting - July archive) No, actually they don't; they never will.

www.lactagen.com - Check it out!
Nancy's Yogurt is available in Health Food Stores and it is SO delicious.
