It's Not Easter Yet, is it?

Here is are pictures of the assortment of sizes and colours of eggs we found in the henhouse today... the blue one is from one of our gold and black Auracana hens. The large brown one is just shy of being three inches long and weighs in at 3 oz., the blue one is an inch and a half long and weighs only 1 oz. the white and 'norma'l brown eggs weigh 1.5 - 2 oz.

We cracked open three large eggs for breakfast and this is what was inside, two yolks each - bionic indeed!

We are really enjoying having these silly birds around - they are so cute. They come flapping and running everytime we go out the door; I know they just see us as 'food bringers' but it is still fun to be so enthusiastically greeted!

It is not unusual to see Dave walking pensively around the yard in the afternoon holding a hen and stroking her rich brown feathers.
