Our First Date

Last night we went into Salmon for a date! It was a lovely drive through the winding valley. The Salmon Arts Council was throwing the second annual Blues, Brews, and BBQs, so we thought we'd see what was up. Were we in for a great surprise!

This was like the bluegrass festival in Prince's Island Park in Calgary, except on a mini scale. The food was fabulous, the music was astonishing, it was well attended, and the weather was perfect. The beer was great, too. There were two amazing acts: Joan Zen who is a little bit Janis, a little bit Jimi, and a whole lot of rockin' music, was the first act. She really got the crowd going; Salmon residents are easy dancers and fun to watch - we even felt free enough to join them! Next was Carlos del Junco - a mesmerizing performer. That is all I well tell you about him; you have to see his performance to believe it!

Check these two out and see if you can take in one of their performances; you will love them!
