Girls with Power Tools

I have always loved the look of 'twig' furniture and have decided to try my hand at it. For the past two days I have been crafting a table out of large twigs, branches really. In two days I have learned to use a hand saw, band saw, drill press, hand held drill, and manual screw driver and have exerted so much elbow power in cutting my raw materials. Plus there was the foray into the bush to find and cut just the right trees and drag them back across the river. This is a LOT of work!

I feel this initial piece is a great success; it is sturdy and level and shows a modicum of creativity.

I did find it a little daunting, working under the eye of these two men: my extremely experienced Dad and my protective husband, who kept trying to do things FOR me. I am not a city girl anymore, I have to learn to do my own things! Besides, power tools rule!
