Tuesday Meditation

I am meditating upon 'being' instead of 'doing' today. I am, by nature, a 'doer', so simply 'being' does not come easily to me. I have the opportunity to reflect upon the differences in these two states because I am forced to lie quietly in bed today. This is such not a bad place to be; I have a beautifully soft cozy bed, an electric blanket set at 7 and about 6 pillows around me which create the perfect nest. And it is a gray cloudy day, perfect for lying in bed - if it were sunny I would be feeling definitely cheated. The glass patio door is open about three inches letting the cool, fresh mountain air waft in. The river has begun to rise with all the melting we are having and her voice is quite loud; it is lovely to lie here and listen to her chattering.

I am in bed today because yesterday, about 3:00 p.m., my tummy started feeling very weird and heavy, and my head started feeling very light and spacey. I was hoping all would all be normal this morning, as Dave and I had planned to go to Missoula today for dresser drawer pulls - blog in process) and have booked a night at Blossoms Bed and Breakfast http://www.blossomsbnb.com/ just for fun - a mini holiday! But alas, here I lie with an intriguing magazine***, an interesting book**, and my laptop*. Oh! and I have my camera too...

***New York Times Magazine, March 4th - Why Do We Believe? by Robin Marantz Henig - I'd love to discuss it with someone!

** The Name of the Rose - Umberto Eco

* Actually it's only on loan from BroJer, one cool, artistic dude.

Derek Brower recently recommended "The Name of the Rose" to me. I've never read Eco, but would like to now.

How would you describe it?

Well... medieval murder mystery. Eco is very leaned, but it sometimes sort of annoying. As in, 'what the heck is he talking about.' I think you'll enjoy it though Matt. Definitely a good read. I haven't got very far into Foucault's Pendulum, but I'm trying. Kim F. is a big fan. Dave
